Not Without my Father was installed in the spring of 2021 during the pandemic. Having no other option, my kids needed to come along for installation. I turned over one wall of the gallery for my son – partially out of necessity to occupy him, and also to celebrate his collaboration in my work. The sub-exhibition Not Without my Son was imagined. The work, hung only as high as he could reach, remained on view for the duration of the show.
